Dear Customers,

We are pleased to announce that we will be upgrading our Network with MySQL 5.5 beginning February 22, 2013. This upgrade will take place on all shared and reseller servers.

Since MySQL 5.0 is no longer providing any security updates it is necessary for us to upgrade the version in order to continue to bring you a service which closes the loops on security short comings, bugs and other potential vulnerabilities. You should experience some interruptions in service or down times during this weekend.

We urge you to upgrade to newer versions of your software that support MySQL 5.5 in order to receive the best benefits, security settings and features which are offered with this version. If you are already using the latest version of your software there is nothing that you will need to do.

You should ascertain with your vendor if your script has any special procedures for the MySQL upgrade as well. Should you experience any issues with this update please feel free to contact our technical support department.

Cloud customer's private servers are not scheduled for this update. Please follow the manual steps in WHM, or request this upgrade by opening a ticket with our support department.

UPDATE: PHP Attention all programmers! (24 FEB)

PHP 5.4 has now been rolled out for our shared and reseller hosting clients. This is also required as this has been listed as the latest stable release. This means that in addition to PHP 5.2 and 5.3, you can now tinker away with the latest and greatest release from the rather clever people over at php.net.

Scheduled downtimes events might include patches to system software that require a reboot or system configuration changes that only take effect upon a reboot.

Please update your website after this update and not during this major network patch.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we move forward with this necessary update.

UPDATE:

THE UPGRADE HAS FINISHED, AND THE NETWORK IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL WITH MYSQL 5.5 AND PHP 5.4
