Upgrade scheduled on Jan 18th
The HDWEBPROVIDER network is designed so that this type of maintenance can be performed without any downtime.
Since the release of PHP 5.2.14 back in July 2010, the PHP development team has been encouraging all PHP 5.2 users to upgrade to PHP 5.3. This release also signaled the end of active support for PHP 5.2.
Because of this, we will be upgrading PHP on all servers to the latest stable release of PHP 5.3. The PHP development teams has released a migration guide that outlines the changes, compatibility, and features, that are available in PHP 5.3. You will need to make sure that any applications you're running are compatible with PHP 5.3, which is why we are sending this notice out so far in advance. Most applications are already compatible with PHP 5.3.
If you are unsure, please visit your application vendor's website and review their system requirements or support resources to confirm this. Since many of our clients use Magento, Joomla and Wordpress we can confirm that your site will be compatible with the PHP upgrade as long as you are running the latest stable version.
Regardless of what applications you have installed, we strongly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version for security, performance, and compatibility reasons. We will be sending out monthly reminders via email about the impending upgrade, and as the final date approaches, you will receive more frequent updates. If you have any questions regarding the PHP upgrade at any point, please open a ticket with PHP Upgrade Quioson as the subject, which will he handled by our Upgrade Specialist. We appreciate your understanding and welcome any feedback.
