An inode is a data structure used to keep information about a file on your hosting account. The number of inodes indicates the number of files and folders you have in your cPanel. We have a 50.000 inodes limit for shared and reseller customers. (25.000 soft - 50.000 max)
The use of more than 50,000 inodes on your account may result in cPanel removing old (stored) email files. As per Terms of Services, using a shared hosting account as a backup drive, is not allowed. If your email space is using all innodes, you may use POP3 instead of IMAP.
Accounts found to be exceeding the 25,000 inode limit will also be removed from our backup system to avoid over-usage.
Dedicated Cloud owners do NOT have an inode limit. This applies only to shared hosting accounts.
